Second book from the series of Asian Rich. Open with a traffic accident in London which involved the heir of a rich Mainlander – Carlton, and for minimalize a scandal, Eddie Cheng trying to collect all the pieces by introduce Mrs Bao Shao Yen, Carlton’s mom to his auntie’socialite group who travel to London at the same time. It found out that the son was spitting image of Rachel Chu. And the story roll base on Rachel Chu meet her father’s family.

This volume follow the richest old families of Singapore, Hong Kong and mainland China and how the youngest generation squander money in ways so staggering. There is many China Rich characters here especially the young crowds although we still find some Singaporean and Hongkongers from the first volume. And lucky, it still has two sensible main character, so this book is not totally insulting.

I feel this one is less interesting than the first book. Rather boring. You must digest so many brand names to everything they wear, eat, envy or acquire in the whole book. Yes, it opens a window about the hi-class society, but the whole book is rather too much. And it also force you to follow them in restaurants, boutiques and clubs.

Besides Nick and Rachel (although this volume not tell so much about their relationship – their part more like we are as reader who watch the China Rich crowd spend their money), we also learn the complicated relationship between Astrid Teong and her husband Michael and her ex-fiancee Charlie Wu. There is also a story about the social climbing Kitty Pong. Her attempts to break into the social elite crowd is funny. And the twist at the last part save this book a bit. Especially the scene when Rachel fight Colette Bing.
